The Five Squads

To achieve the objective of bringing 10,000 women back to career, the programme operates through five strategic squads.

Squad 01

Talent Trace — Identify the Talent

Talent Trace focuses on building a strong and sustainable pipeline of talented women who are seeking opportunities to return to their careers. It works through multiple talent identification channels, candidate registration and database creation, alumni and professional networks, government and institutional partnerships, community outreach, and partner ecosystem. WIIT has created a dedicated registration platform through which women on career breaks can register their details and indicate their career interests, skills and preferred opportunities.

Squad 02

100 CEOs — Build Employer Commitment

The 100 CEOs initiative aims to onboard 100 CEOs/Business Leaders across India as sponsoring employers and champions for women-focused hiring. The initiative encourages organisations to create opportunities for women returning after career breaks, integrate returnship opportunities into their DEIB programmes, support flexible and inclusive workplace practices, provide mentorship and professional support, and facilitate hiring and career progression.

Squad 03

Career Spring — Build Confidence and Readiness

Career Spring focuses on preparing women psychologically, professionally and practically for their return to work. The squad will develop and deliver career confidence-building programmes, workshops, bootcamps, career counselling, resume and profile building, interview preparation, workplace readiness programmes, and leadership and communication development. The objective is to help women overcome the barriers associated with career breaks and regain the confidence, competence and willingness to re-enter the workforce.

Squad 04

Skill Bridge — Connect Skills to Market Demand

Skill Bridge identifies the gap between current industry requirements and the skills available within the women talent pool. Based on market demand, the squad will identify emerging industry skill requirements, assess existing skills of candidates, map skill gaps, develop short-term/crash courses, provide bridge training, facilitate industry-oriented upskilling, and collaborate with companies to create relevant training pathways. Skill Bridge will also work closely with hiring organisations to facilitate Returnship programmes and on-the-job training opportunities.

Squad 05

BIZPARK — Enable Women Entrepreneurs

BizPark focuses on women who may prefer to create their own career opportunities through entrepreneurship rather than traditional employment. The squad will identify technology-enabled entrepreneurship opportunities, connect women with entrepreneurship ecosystem partners, provide entrepreneurship training, support business ideation and validation, promote technology adoption among women entrepreneurs, facilitate networking and mentoring, and encourage a strong startup and entrepreneurial culture. Goal: Enable women on career breaks to leverage technology and create sustainable businesses and employment opportunities.
